"Nicola's time, professionalism, warmth and patience - along with her clear belief in her vocation - has been invaluable in helping me on this part of my journey. I've been encouraged to develop the inner resources to become my own counsellor in many ways."

Clinical Hypnosis can now be provided at the counselling rooms. Hypnosis can help clients who are experiencing feelings of listlessness, anxiety and who are unable to relax, sleep or rest.

My interest in counselling was born out of a desire to return to the caring profession and help people find a way to live an emotionally healthy life. I believe we all have the internal resources to overcome our distress and work towards healing.

As a former nurse in general, community and school nursing, my professional and life skills are transferable to the counselling relationship. My aim is to foster a counselling environment that will encourage personal growth. Most importantly I bring this attitude with genuine warmth to the counselling relationship.

During the last 2 years I have worked in a West Yorkshire Hospice with people who are affected by death and other issues of loss and grief. I have worked with clients offering pre-bereavement and post-bereavement counselling services and have worked with staff, patients and relatives.

In addition I have worked at a West Yorkshire Counselling Centre and an Early Years Children’s centre providing one to one therapy for men, women, parents, children and young people working in the areas of depression and relationship difficulties.

I aim to be sensitive to the cultural and ethnic origins of people’s religious beliefs and sexual orientation. I am a member of the BACP and am bound by its ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy and subject to its professional conduct.

I believe in the uniqueness and worth of each individual and believe we all deserve to be able to choose our own direction and values to live by.
